        ABOUT MINDY LAM

A fairytale fit for the modern woman.

Mindy Lam is a Chinese-American jewelry artist that weaves various metals into her signature metal lace with crystals, semi-precious stones, and other precious metals.  Originally born on a chicken farm in Hong Kong, the glamour and fantasy Mindy creates now, is a far cry from her childhood experiences. Her work reflects the craftsmanship of the classic couture houses of old, but with a refreshingly modern edge with the fusion of her signature florals and metals.

Designing for over 18 years, Lam was a huge favorite at Henri Bendel in New York City for almost 10 years, she has been featured in the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Elle, Brides Magazine, Glamour, People, Life & Style, L'Officiel, Vogue Italia and many more. Companies and charities have included the National Cherry Blossom Festival, W Hotel, American Heart Association, Texas Children’s Hospital, St. Jude, Prevent Cancer, and of course the National Kidney Foundation.

In 2010, her business came to a screeching halt after her heart stopped and the diagnosis of end stage kidney disease. The next 3 years included a rigorous dialysis schedule, and she lost everything including her home, due to her inability to work. Finally in 2013, when her daughter was of age, she donated her kidney and the story made front page Yahoo News.

As a kidney disease survivor and transplant recipient from her beloved daughter, Mindy Lam’s giving back is in a more purposeful way and is more important than ever. In 2016, she successfully relaunched her brand with much fanfare after making a full recovery. Because of her life changing experience, Mindy has now incorporated a philanthropic component to the brand through special collaborations to continue to uplift and spread love and hope to others.

Keth Ditthavong, Partner at Ditthavong & Steiner, P.C.

Keth Ditthavong immigrated from Laos to start anew with his family.  He, along with his mother and younger brother, arrived in Louisiana in the 70’s to visit his father, who studied at Louisiana State University (LSU).  Due to circumstances stemming from the Vietnam war, they decided to embrace a new country as their own.  His family has always been fond of art and music with his father being a legendary Lao contemporary vocalist/composer, his youngest brother an award-winning photographer and filmmaker, and his son an accomplished film editor.

In the early ‘90s, Keth co-founded an Internet start-up using his expertise as data and telecommunications engineer (holding a BS and an MS in Electrical Engineering). His love of entrepreneurship remained in tack after earning a Juris Doctor and working at boutique and major law firms. In 2000, Keth co-founded his own law firm, presently known as Ditthavong & Steiner, P.C. — with offices in Washington, D.C., New York, San Diego, and Taipei. He grew the firm from 2 people to over 70 employees and positioned the firm as an international powerhouse in intellectual property. Keth also pursues other business ventures in film and music, fashion, beverage, as well as software. He has a deep passion for socially impactful philanthropy, serving on several boards of non-profits that benefit youths. Through one of these charities, he met Mindy Lam and immediately connected with her and her artistry.
